Done with tuning my low end timing

After more than 2 months tuning my low end timing. I'm quite satisfied with how the car performs during acceleration from stand still and whilst cruising. Here's my latest timing map from rom 20081019_advance-no-knock.hex. I've decided not to go any further coz everytime I increase it, i keep getting knock.

I'm going to start tuning my timing map when boosting now. Hope I don't blow anything. :-)

Increasing my boost limit

I keep getting P0244 CEL whenever I run higher than 1.3 bar of boost. To solve this, I need to increase my boost limit. The boost limit is set by the following 2 tables:

Boost Limit (CEL) and Boost Limit (Fuel Cut): Below are my stock settings (see the last window, the top 2 are from other reference ROMS):

To know which value to change, I need to know what is my atmospheric pressure. I can find this out by logging atmospheric pressure which is 4.65 (see below):

So, I change the column under 14.7:

The stock setting is : 20.69 PSI (1.426523 bar)
I've up it to : 29.39 (2.026366 bar)

That's it!

Tip-In

Its been quite awhile since my last post. Sorry, I've been really swamped with work. Anyway, I have been tuning but just that I've not had enough time to post on the blog.

Since my last tuning update, I've realised that I can run more timing if I increased my tip-in enrichment. Since then I've been able to add more timing. Here's my latest timing table:

Here's my stock Throttle Tip-In Enrichment:

And here's my current Throttle Tip-In Enrichment:

I'm still trying to work this out. But one thing I've learned today is not to change Minimum Tip-In Enrichment Activation:

My car got so jerky, especially between 2000 and 3500 rpm that it feels like I am stuck in first gear (Stock 1.6):

I'm going to set it back to stock.. hopefully my car still runs fine.
